Shelter takes shape

Museum volunteers have recently taken a break from restoring vehicles to turn their attention to a humble bus shelter. The shelter in question is a cast iron shelter that served Dunoon ferry terminal for many years. The shelter was donated by Argyle and Bute Council to the museum and once completed it will take its place outside the exhibition hall. The shelter not only provides an authentic background for our vehicles, but in wet weather serves a very practical function as well!
The shelter is now near our traditional red telephone box, the next steps to be undertaken include shot blasting and painting the steelwork as well as replacing the glass.
Watch this space for progress!
